Cavanal Chorale was established in 2009 by a small group of people with a vision for a premier choral experience in this more rural setting. Noma Curtis spearheaded this venture, and she was the director/conductor for many years until she moved to central Oklahoma to be near her daughter. Poteau and the area owe much to Noma for beginning the Cavanal Chorale.
Since Noma’s exit we have carried the torch. We attempt to bring a nice choral experience with an auditioned, adult choir. They have the heart and talent to produce excellent music. The Chorale tries to do a couple of concerts per year. Sometimes circumstances intervene.
If you have never been to a Cavanal Chorale Concert, now is your chance. You might want to audition to be a part of this group. Come listen and see what you think.
Sunday November 24, 2024, at 2 pm – Cavanal Chorale will bring their Christmas concert at a DIFFERENT VENUE. This concert will take place at the First Free Will Baptist Church at 501 West Blvd. in Poteau. The concert is free, while donations are greatly appreciated.
Cavanal Chorale is in association with Oklahoma Federation of Music Clubs and National Federation of Music Clubs.
