PHIL REED NAMED WEEKDAY 5:00 P.M. ANCHOR AND REPORTER  AT KHBS/KHOG HearstTelevision

FAYETTEVILLE/FORT SMITH, ARKANSAS, August 16, 2022 – Phil Reed has been named weekday 5:00 p.m. anchor and reporter for 40/29 News. Reed joins 40/29 and The Arkansas CW from KCRG-TV9, the ABC affiliate in Cedar Rapids, IA.

“Phil’s experience and passion for reporting local news will be an asset to our stations,” said 40/29 News Director, Colleen Clement. “He’s worked so many different positions in the industry, and we look forward to him sharing the stories that matter to our viewers in Northwest Arkansas and the River Valley.”

Reed is originally from Chicago and graduated from Northern Illinois University with a degree in Journalism.

In college, Reed worked at the Northern Television Center as a reporter and producer where he also shot interviews and covered sports for “Top Shelf Sports.” He also worked his way up from a multi-media journalist to an anchor and producer at KCRG-TV9 in Cedar Rapids, IA.

In his free time, Reed enjoys bike riding, playing basketball and cheering on Chicago sports teams.

Reed will begin anchoring 40/29 News at 5:00 p.m. and reporting later this month.
