Graveside Service for Tommy Dewitt Brown, 92 of Norman, Oklahoma will be at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, March 13, 2024 at Macedonia Cemetery in Pocola, Oklahoma with Rev. John Holderfield officiating. Services are under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Pocola, Oklahoma. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 13, 2024 from 11:30AM-12:30PM at the funeral home.
Tommy was called into heaven on Friday, March 8, 2024. Tommy was born May 8, 1931 in Arcadia, Florida to Cora Taylor Brown Gaskins and Carl Frederic Brown. Tommy was preceded in death by his siblings Lenora Brown Tsacrios and Frederic Brown.
At the age of 18 Tommy entered the US Army and that is where he spent the next twenty years of his career. While stationed at Fort Chaffee, Arkansas Tommy met and married the love of his life Mary Beth Holderfield. Tommy spent two years in the Korean Conflict and earned the Bronze Star and Purple Heart. He served one tour in the Vietnam Conflict. After retiring from the military, he went to work for Rheem manufacturing retiring a second time at the age of 68. Tommy was preceded in death by Mary Beth (Betsy) in 2004. He is survived by his three children Teresa Lynn Brown (Fort Smith), Dr. Thomas Michael Brown (Dewitt, MI), and Tammy (Darin) Rainbolt. Grandchildren Hannah Brown Waterloo (Jenison, MI), Katie Victoria Rainbolt (Norman,OK), Caleb Leslie Brown (Bethany, OK), Jonathan Rainbolt (Norman, OK), Mary Rose (Joshua) Pendelton (Ann Arbor, MI), Grace Lee Brown (Norman, OK), Luke Ellison Brown (Oklahoma City, OK ).
