ChoCho was truly the life of the party. Full of life, fearless, except for when it came to spiders, and impossible not to love. With his crooked smile and infectious personality, he never met a stranger and somehow always walked away with a new friend. He had a way of making people feel welcome, seen, and appreciated wherever he went.
Through his work with Elite Towers-ICT he was blessed with the opportunity to travel and experience so much. From him standing at the Grand Canyon to cheering at a Chicago Bulls game, he embraced every adventure that came his way and lived life to the fullest.
Some of the best moments with ChoCho were the simple ones. A lot of time was spent with friends that shortly became family, and his big brother’s hanging out at Aunt Penny and Uncle Greg’s house playing video games, watching football, or just hanging out on the porch listening to music. Him and his big brothers made sure to make the time to always go see their momma and daddy because he always knew they would have a meal ready and waiting. The topic of food was always highest on the list. Recently, spending a lot of time at the lake with his new acquired jet ski that his Uncle Greg made him go buy life jackets before he could ever take it out. Wherever ChoCho was, laughter and a good time was never far behind.
ChoCho was a proud member of the Poteau High School Class of 2023. Throughout his high school years, he was dedicated to football and played with heart and determination every time he stepped onto the field. He helped lead the Pirates to a state championship victory in 2019. Before transferring to Poteau in the 7th grade, he played for the Wolf Pups, where he also celebrated a little league state championship. Football was more than just a sport to ChoCho; it was a brotherhood, a passion, and a big part of who he was.
ChoCho was such a bright light in this dark world. There isn’t another one like him. Our light has been dimmed, but we will make sure his memory lives on through each and every one of us. Through the stories we tell, the laughter we share, and the love he gave so freely, a part of him will always remain with us. Though he may no longer walk beside us, his spirit will forever be carried in our hearts.
