Robert is survived by his children, Donnie Phillips and wife Lisa, Jeri Spear, and Rebeka Lee and husband Jim; grandchildren Ben Phillips, Dustin Phillips and wife Jennifer, and Noah Spear; and great-grandchildren Callie, Kenzie, Hudson, Brynlie, Sterling, and Andi Phillips. He is also survived by his sister Doris Mendenhall, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, loved ones, and friends.
When you met Robert, you quickly became his friend. His kindness, generosity, and infectious spirit made him someone everyone loved to be around. He had a special way of making those who crossed his path feel welcomed and valued, and people always had great things to say about him. His greatest joy came from helping others, and his ability to bring joy and comfort to those around him was unparalleled. Above all, Robert’s children and grandchildren were his pride and joy, and they held a special place in his heart.
Robert’s celebration of life will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, March 22, 2025, at Evans Chapel of Memories in Poteau, Oklahoma, with Brian Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Vaughn Cemetery in Gilmore, Oklahoma, under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home.
The family will visit with friends on Friday, March 21, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
