In celebration of its 25th anniversary, the Tobacco Settlement Endowment Trust is launching TSET Legacy Grants, a bold, historic funding opportunity aimed at tackling Oklahoma’s leading causes of death: cancer and cardiovascular disease.

This initiative will fund large-scale, multiyear projects designed to enhance health care access, strengthen rural health, prevalent disease and improve quality of life, particularly in rural and underserved areas.

Key Details:

  • Funding Amount: Minimum of $3 million per project

  • Project Duration: 1 to 3 years, starting January 2026

  • Eligible Applicants: Public institutions, public entities, state agencies, 501(c)(3) nonprofits and tribal entities

  • Application Period: Tues., April 15 through Mon., June 16, 2025

Why It Matters:

  • Reduces preventable deaths: By funding sustainable, evidence-based solutions, TSET aims to lower mortality rates from cancer and cardiovascular disease.

  • Improves rural health: Prioritizing underserved areas will help close health care gaps and promote early intervention strategies.

  • Drives lasting impact: Projects with broad community support, measurable health outcomes and long-term sustainability will be prioritized.

“TSET Legacy Grants are a transformative step toward a healthier Oklahoma,” said Julie Bisbee, TSET executive director. “We are equipping organizations with resources to create lasting, life-saving impacts.”

The grants will support one-time, large-scale projects that can demonstrate broad, meaningful health improvements. Applications will undergo a rigorous review process, including presentations to the TSET Board of Directors, with final decisions announced in November 2025.
