Ruby Laverne Miller, 91, of Heavener, Oklahoma, was born on June 25, 1933, in Blackfork, Arkansas to Emma Jane (Deheart) Miller and John Jacob Miller. She passed away peacefully on April 24, 2025, in Heavener.

Ruby had a passion for creativity and craftsmanship. She was an accomplished doll maker and took great pride in her porcelain dolls. She also loved playing the piano, sewing, shopping, and traveling. More than anything, she treasured the time she spent with her family.

Ruby was preceded in death by her husbands, Othel Thomas Scroggins and Lester Dietz; her daughter, Mona Jeannette Scroggins; her parents; and her siblings.

She is survived by her son, Jerry Scroggins; granddaughters, Skilina Licea and Jasper Williams, Jr., Nechole Hanshew and husband Scott, and Lori Shropshire; great-grandchildren, O’Seanacee Licea, Tilor Reagan, Shorie Reagan, Brittney Fairless, and Bailie Hanshew; and great-great-grandchildren, Kassous Jones, Lukas Krueger, Pilot Reagan, Jane Reagan, and Ian Pace.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, April 28, 2025, at Oakland Cemetery in Poteau, Oklahoma, with Vernon Stone officiating. Services are under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau, Oklahoma.

Viewing will be held on Sunday from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the funeral home.
