Jerry Francis Mayes, 54, passed away on July 29, 2025, at his home in Pocola, Oklahoma surrounded by his family. Jerry was born on July 3, 1971, in Orange, California to parents Richard and Eula (Bowers) Mayes. Jerry was of the Mormon faith and a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Jerry was a man that was always working, whether it was running heavy equipment or building things. Over the years, Jerry ran and operated multiple businesses. He loved to mechanic and work on anything with a motor. When he wasn’t working, he loved to spend time with his family and spoiling his grandchildren.

Jerry was preceded in death by his father Richard Mayes.

Jerry is survived by his wife Patricia Mayes of the home, his mother Eula Nurmela of Delta, Colorado, his son Jerry Mayes Jr and wife Brittney of Roland, Oklahoma, his daughters Shariot Overturf and husband Jeff of Delta, Colorado, Hannah Mayes and husband TC Allen of Pocola, Oklahoma, and Audrey Abeyta of Delta, Colorado, his 10 grandchildren, his brothers Rodney Mayes of Carney, Oklahoma and James Mayes of Hemet, California, his sisters Barbara Rowe of Lindsey, California and Allsha Komives of Delta, Colorado, along with many other relatives and friends.

The Celebration of Life Services for Jerry will be held 1pm – Saturday, August 2, 2025, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints 625 Coggins Road Poteau, Oklahoma with President Barlow officiating and burial to follow at Macedonia Cemetery in Pocola, Oklahoma. Casket bearers will be Dozer Blakley, Carson Mayes, Jerry Mayes Jr, Geno Valdez, Kodie Komives, Jeff Overturf, Rodney Mayes, and TC Allen.
