Bobby Dale Martin, 77, of Buck Creek, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on September 10, 2025.

He was born on August 2, 1948, in Poteau, Oklahoma, to Arlin T. Martin Sr. and Estella Marie Martin. Bobby worked as a skilled trades tool and die advisor for Whirlpool, dedicating his career before retiring.

On December 8, 1967, he married the love of his life, Gatha Jane Martin, and together they shared 57 wonderful years. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Bobby cherished spending time with his family. He also enjoyed hunting and playing the guitar, passions that brought him joy throughout his life.

Bobby was a faithful member of the Poteau Church of Christ, reflecting his strong faith and dedication to his community.

He is survived by his loving wife, Gatha Jane Martin; his children:

• Bobby “Scott” Martin and wife Kathy Ann Martin of Knott Hole, Oklahoma

• Bryan Heath Martin and wife Cynthia Marie Martin of Buck Creek, Oklahoma

• Leslie Amber Wilcox and husband Nathan William Wilcox of Van Buren, Arkansas

His grandchildren and great-grandchildren include:

• From Scott: Son Colby Scott Martin and wife Amber, and their children Avery, Adeyln, Reminisce, and Olen Martin; Son Clay Martin, and his son Memphis Martin

• From Bryan: Daughter, Drucille Sole and husband Hunter, and their son Lee Sole; Son, Jeffrey Bryan Martin and wife Reagan

• From Leslie: Daughter Hailey Alison Hvamstad and her boyfriend Kyle Pense, and their daughter Tenley Pense; and son Weston Martin Wilcox

He is also survived by his brothers, Don Martin and wife Shirley of Poteau, Oklahoma, and Doyle Martin and wife Sandy of Heavener, Oklahoma; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends who loved him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arlin T. Martin Sr. and Estella Marie Martin; his son, Jeffrey Bryan Martin; his sisters, Melba Treece and Shirley Walls; and his brothers, Thiral Martin, Marvin Martin, and Johnny Martin.

Bobby will be remembered for his devotion to his faith, family, and love of music, and for his generous spirit. His legacy of love, faith, and strength will live on through those who knew and cherished him.

The Celebration of Life Services for Bobby will be held 11am – Saturday, September 13, 2025, at the Poteau Church of Christ, officiated and conducted by his family. Friends and loved ones are invited to visit with the family following the service, with a lunch to be served afterward.
