Susan Denise Martin, 61, of Poteau, Oklahoma, passed away on October 22, 2025, in Fort Smith, Arkansas. She was born on March 25, 1964, in Weatherford, Texas, to Charles and Jamie (Danley) Plowman.
Susan dedicated her life to caring for others, working as an LVN and LPN in many nursing homes throughout her career. Her compassion, steady hands, and gentle spirit touched the lives of countless patients and their families.
She is survived by her parents, Charles and Sue Plowman; one son, Ben of Poteau, Oklahoma; and one grandson. She is also survived by her sisters, Melissa Bean of Arkoma, Oklahoma, and Brandi Shropshire and husband Dennis of Wister, Oklahoma; and by her beloved nieces and nephews, Kendell Shropshire of Wister, Oklahoma, Kameron Shropshire of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Brian Hill of California, Cara Stewart of Oklahoma, Lexi Wells and Kaine Wells, both of Arkoma, Oklahoma.
The Celebration of Life Services for Susan will be held from 1pm – 3pm on November 9, 2025, at The Cedars on Dewey 520 Dewey Ave, Poteau, Oklahoma. The Nurses honor guard will present at 2pm.
All are invited to come spend time reminiscing and sharing stories of Susan with her family.
Susan will be remembered for her kindness, strength, and the love she shared with her family and all who knew her.
