Lloyd Trenton Riddlespurger was born on February 15, 1933, to James and Ella Riddlespurger. He was raised in Frederick, Oklahoma, alongside three sisters and two brothers.
Lloyd spent most of his life dedicated to serving the Lord and was ordained into the ministry of the Gospel of Jesus Christ on June 6, 1971. This ordination was Lloyd’s pledge to live, work, and practice biblical and religious activities in accordance with the law. To his credit, Lloyd performed many marriages and baptisms and was also regularly involved in prison ministry.
Lloyd was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He enlisted on January 13, 1953, in Dallas, Texas, and served in Korea. After sustaining a head injury, he was honorably discharged on May 4, 1954.
For many years, Lloyd resided in Memphis, Texas, where he worked as a plumber, pastor, and maintenance help for Hall County. Lloyd spent his retirement years in Howe, Oklahoma, where he faithfully participated in the ministry at The Oaks Nursing Home of Poteau until his passing on January 30, 2026.
He is survived by his loving wife, Perlene Ellis Riddlespurger; stepchildren Matt, Carla, and Robert; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren
Honoring his final wishes, The Celebration of Life Graveside Services for Lloyd will be 11AM – Friday, February 6, 2026, Graveside at Rowe Cemetery in Hedley, Texas. Viewing will be 9am – 8pm, Wednesday, February 4, 2026, and 9 am – 12noon Thursday, February 5, 2026, at The Cedars on Dewey 520 Dewey Ave Poteau, Oklahoma.
