OKLAHOMA CITY – Emma Brady is paging for Rep. Jim Grego, R-Wilburton, May 4-7 at the State Capitol.
During their time at the Capitol, House pages get to shadow their legislator, attending sessions on the House floor. They also take part in a mock legislative session with peers from across the state. They write, present, debate and vote on their own or peer-led legislation, and they elect leaders from among themselves.
“Emma is a top student and a very talented individual,” Grego said. “It was good to get to explain the legislative process and give her more information about state government. I hope this sparks a lifelong interest in public service. I wish her the very best.”
Emma has been on the Superintendent’s Honor Roll at her school for the last six years and is one of the top students in her grade and school. She is in band and concert band, which has qualified for state competition for 10 years in a row. She’s also in marching band, which earned a superior rating this year. Emma serves in 4-H. She’s a county ambassador, and she’s a member of Key Club. She was in FFA for three years as well.
After high school, she plans to attend Oklahoma State University Institute of Technology to major in culinary arts. She eventually would like to start her own business.
Jim Grego serves District 17 in the Oklahoma House of Representatives. His district includes Latimer County and part and Pittsburg County.
