OKLAHOMA CITY – House members Leader Cyndi Munson, D-Oklahoma City, Rep. Andy Fugate, D-Del City, and Rep. Daniel Pae, R-Lawton, filed HR 1059 to recognize May 2026 as Asian American Pacific Islander Month.
AAPI Month is to recognize the contributions of the AAPI community and culture in Oklahoma and the United States.
“I am proud to co-author this resolution, and doing so is uniquely special as the first Asian American woman elected to the Oklahoma Legislature. This resolution acknowledges the Oklahoma House of Representatives’ celebration of AAPI-owned businesses, history, and culture. My younger self needed to see someone like me in leadership. It is never lost on me how meaningful it is to show up to represent myself and all Asian American women and girls in Oklahoma.
