Dennis Wayne Covey

Dennis Wayne Covey was born on April 23, 1957, in Los Angeles, California, to Ethelene (Goins) Covey and Charlie Wayne Covey. He passed away on June 26, 2026, at his home in Bokoshe, Oklahoma, at the age of 69.

Dennis was a hardworking man who took great pride in providing for his family. He was an excellent father, a devoted family man, and someone who was always willing to lend a helping hand. He loved hunting and spending time outdoors. Exceptionally talented, there was hardly anything Dennis couldn’t build, repair, or figure out. His generous spirit and huge heart touched everyone who knew him, and he will be remembered for his kindness, strength, and unwavering love for his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie Wayne Covey and Ethelene (Goins) Covey; and two brothers, Donny Covey and Charley Covey, Jr.

Dennis is survived by his sons, Dennis Covey Jr. and wife Carrie of Keota, Oklahoma, Wesley Walters and significant other Chasity Waterbury of Pocola, Oklahoma, and Clint Covey and wife Amber of Bokoshe, Oklahoma; his daughters, April Covey of Bokoshe, Oklahoma, and Abbi Covey of Bokoshe, Oklahoma; five granddaughters; ten grandsons; his brother, Robert Allen Covey and wife Lisa of Wellston, Oklahoma; his sisters, Debby Jeffery and husband Dennis of Cushing, Oklahoma, Janice Barcheers and husband Ricky of Bokoshe, Oklahoma, Diane Jackson of Shady Point, Oklahoma, and Charlotte Covey of Shady Point, Oklahoma; along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will cherish his memory.

A Memorial Service for Dennis Wayne Covey, 69, of Bokoshe, Oklahoma, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 5, 2026, at Evans & Miller Chapel in Poteau, Oklahoma.
