Funeral services for Daniel LaFaye Taylor, 41, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at Evans Chapel of Memories in Poteau, Oklahoma. Burial will follow at Oakland Cemetery in Poteau, Oklahoma, under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau.
Viewing and visitation will be held Friday, August 14, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home, with the family greeting friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.Daniel was born on September 22, 1984, in Fort Smith, Arkansas, to Charlotte (Lewis) Taylor and Bobby LaFaye Taylor. He passed away on August 9, 2026, in Owasso, Oklahoma.
Daniel enjoyed riding horses and fishing and was happiest spending time doing the things he loved. A natural leader, he took great pride in helping others, especially at work. He enjoyed training the new guys, showing them the ropes, and passing along what he had learned.
Daniel was deeply proud of his country, a pride inspired in large part by his father, Bobby, a Vietnam veteran, and his younger brother, Samuel Taylor, also a veteran. Daniel was incredibly proud of both his father’s and his brother’s military service. He participated in events and activities honoring Vietnam veterans as a special way of showing his love, gratitude, and respect for his father, while carrying that same pride and respect for his brother’s service. Their service and sacrifice meant a great deal to Daniel and held a special place in his heart throughout his life.
Daniel was preceded in death by his parents, Charlotte and Bobby LaFaye Taylor; brother, Eric Williams; and cousin, Carl Dean Taylor.
Daniel is survived by his wife, Catherine Taylor; sons, Michael Taylor, Malachi Beshirs, Marcus Beshirs, Gavin Rice, Dallas Rice, and Luke Taylor; daughters, Ma-Leah Taylor, MaKiya Taylor, Raynei Taylor, Jaxei Rice, and Zaylei Rice; grandchildren, Blakelynn Taylor, Kaizlyn Taylor, Tinsley Taylor, Noah Beshirs, Greyson Beshirs, Adalynn Rice, and Tackston Taylor, who is on the way; brothers, Shannon Taylor, Justin Williams, Samuel Taylor, and Zachary Taylor; sisters, Lisa Matthews and Nikki Hope; cousin-sister, Lisa Little; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many loved ones.Pallbearers will be Michael Taylor, Samuel Taylor, Shannon Taylor, Justin Williams, Jesse Knudsen, Jackie Milford, Stace Seals, and Jeff Disonia.
