Mildred was born on September 30, 1956, in Paducah, Kentucky, to Sadie (Cooper) Jeffery and Henry Jeffery. She passed away on August 15, 2026, in Muskogee, Oklahoma.
On September 17, 1976, Mildred married Harry Stanley in Miami, Oklahoma. Together, they built a life centered around faith, family, love, and devotion.
Mildred loved the Lord with all her heart and was saved at the age of 14. Her faith remained a guiding force throughout her life, and she lived as a true example of a Proverbs 31 woman—strong, faithful, devoted to her family, and always willing to stand up for those she loved. She had a special place in her heart for the underdog and was never afraid to speak up for someone who needed her in their corner.
Family was at the center of Mildred’s world. She ran her household with an iron fist, but behind that strength was a tremendous love for her family and a desire to protect and care for each of them. Those who knew Mildred knew exactly where they stood with her, and they also knew that when she loved you, she loved you fiercely.
Mildred enjoyed getting her nails done and appreciated those special moments of pampering herself. She also had a wonderful way with words and wasn’t easily fooled. One of her favorite sayings summed up her wisdom and personality perfectly: “I’m too old of a cat to be fooled by a kitten.” Her strength, wit, faith, and unmistakable personality will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Sadie and Henry Jeffery; brothers, Harry Jeffery and Jack “Peanut” Jeffery; niece, Cherry Candy; father-in-law, Buck Stanley; and her third daughter, Leslie Harrison.
Mildred is survived by her husband of nearly 50 years, Harry Stanley; daughters, Melanie Stanley and Ashley Stanley; sons, Harry Mark Stanley and wife Bernadette, and Jack Buck Stanley and wife Charmaine; grandchildren, Jillian, Buckaroo, Maria, Marky, Fat Boy, and Daisy Mae; sisters, Maddie Jeffery, and Tangerie Eddington and husband Troy; mother-in-law, Shirley Stanley; sisters-in-law, Madge Cooper, and Mamie Ann Worton and husband Alfred; brother-in-law, Willie Buck Stanley and wife Coo; special nephew, Jack Jeffery and wife Lacey; her spiritual mother, Sister Louise; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many loved ones.
Pallbearers will be Jack Jeffery, Jr., Troy Eddington, Henry Eddington, Henry Buck Stanley, Cody Stanley, Tommy Worton, Rick Worton, Robbie Stanley, and Justin Smith.
Mildred leaves behind a legacy of unwavering faith, fierce love, strength, and devotion to family. Her presence was one that could not be overlooked, and the lessons, laughter, and love she gave so freely will remain in the hearts of her family for generations to come.
