A common practice that many landowners tend to overuse is mowing or brush hogging. While mowing can achieve an aesthetically pleasing look to a property, mowing does not achieve the objectives that most landowners are trying to accomplish. In fact, with wildlife management as a main focus for a property, widespread mowing removes vital habitat for nesting, bedding, and forage. Targeted and intentional mowing can be useful for accomplishing goals, while non-discretional and ill-timed mowing generally causes more harm than good.
