Priscilla was born on October 24, 1941, to Clarence and Lee Ethel (Wood) Foyil in their family home in Spiro, Oklahoma. In 1946, she moved with her family to Southern California, though they continued to return to Oklahoma often to visit her many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
At just 14 years old, Priscilla survived polio, a testament to the strength and determination that would remain a part of her character throughout her life. She grew up in Winchester, California, on a turkey ranch, where her loving parents taught her many skills, including driving, gardening, cooking, and sewing.
While attending high school, Priscilla competed in the Miss Perris Pageant. Although she did not win, she proudly wore the beautiful dresses that she had sewn herself. She graduated from Perris High School in 1959 and later attended Chaffey College in Ontario, where she majored in home economics.
“Prissie,” as many lovingly called her, lived life to the fullest. She fell in love, raised her children, traveled to many states, and created memories that would last a lifetime. She also formed a lifelong friendship with Eula, whom she had known and loved for 80 years after growing up together in California. Later in life, they were fortunate enough to live only 50 miles apart.
Priscilla worked at Rheem Manufacturing for 25 years, where she made many close friends—her “girlfriends,” as she called them. Even after retirement, she continued to stay in touch with them throughout the years.
Priscilla found great joy in the simple things in life, especially those that brought the family together, whether you were blood or adopted in. She was an exceptionally talented seamstress, and everyone knew they could come to her for their sewing needs. Over the years, she made school costumes, cheer uniforms, Easter dresses, and quilts for her children, and she patched countless pairs of jeans.
She loved the great outdoors, going on many road trips, camping with family, having park picnics, outdoor barbecues, and relaxing with a good mystery novel and a hot cup of coffee. Her days were filled with daily crossword puzzles, crafting, baking customized birthday cakes for her grandchildren, making delicious meals for the masses, and watching her favorite Murder she Wrote and Hallmark programs.
She loved Elvis Presley and proudly displayed her collection of Elvis memorabilia on her bedroom wall. We often called her “Elvis’s other Priscilla.” One of her special memories was eventually taking a road trip with her daughter to Graceland.
She lived her life in the moment, with laughter, warmth, and a lot of adventurous spontaneity.
Priscilla was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Lee Ethel (Wood) Foyil; her son, Darrell Smothers; and her grandsons, Curtis Harris Jr. and Christopher Harris.
She is survived by her children: Kim Domenigoni and husband Steve Domenigoni of Winchester, California; Debbie Smothers of Lavaca, Arkansas; Steve Heston of Fort Smith, Arkansas; and Candra Harris and husband, Curtis Harris of Lavaca, Arkansas. She is also survived by her sister, Lois Teters of Brea, California.
Priscilla leaves behind 10 grandchildren: Amanda Prince, Becky (Domenigoni) Briggs, Stephen Isaac, Wayne Domenigoni, Amy (Isaac) Elkins, Chrissy (Harris) Meijer, Christy-Lina Smothers, Shana-Lee Smothers, Cody Harris, and Jacob Heston, as well as 12 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Priscilla will be remembered for her strength and determination, her creativity, her tell-it-like-it-is sass, and, above all, her devotion to her family and friends. The love she gave, the laughter she shared, and the traditions she created will live on in the hearts and lives of all who knew and loved her.
Visitation will be held Sunday, August 30, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Mallory Martin Funeral Home in Spiro, Oklahoma. A Celebration of Life service will be held at the same location on Monday, August 31, 2026, at 11:00 a.m.
