Arthur Lester English, Jr. of Heavener, Oklahoma was born November 17, 1949 in Fort Smith, Arkansas to Arthur Lester, Sr. and Alma Geneva (Renfro) English and passed away February 10, 2021 in Heavener, Oklahoma at the age of 71.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Lester, Sr. and Alma Geneva English; his wife, Brenda English; and one brother, Gerald C. English.
Lester was a long-time resident of the Heavener area. He was a 1969 graduate of Spiro High School. Lester was in law enforcement for over 40 years. He retired as Sergeant with the Heavener Police Department. He started the Heavener Christmas Toy Drive 14 years ago.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 16, 2021 at the Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home Chapel in Heavener, Oklahoma with Mr. David Hope officiating. Burial will follow in New Hope Cemetery in Spiro, Oklahoma under the direction of Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home of Heavener, Oklahoma.
Pallbearers will be: The Heavener Police Department
Viewing will be from Noon until 6:00 p.m., Monday and 9:00 a.m. until service time, Tuesday at the funeral home.
