Betty Marie Dodson

Funeral Service for Betty Marie Dodson, 89, will be at 2:00 PM on Thursday, October 1, 2026, at Evans Chapel of Memories in Poteau, Oklahoma, with Larry Matthiesen officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Panama, Oklahoma, under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau, Oklahoma.

Betty was born on April 5, 1937, to Alta (Stankowitz) Julstead and Neely Julstead and passed away on September 24, 2026, in Panama, Oklahoma.

Betty was a devoted woman of faith and family who had a deep love for teaching and dedicated many years to it. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Shady Point, Oklahoma. Betty’s love for her family and her unwavering faith were evident throughout her life, and she will be remembered for the love, kindness, and devotion she shared with those around her.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents; the love of her life and husband of 72 years, Harold Dodson; her son, Kevin Dodson; brother, Don “Red” Julstead; and sister, Mildred Claborn.

Survivors include her daughter, Amy Cagle and husband Jeff of Shady Point, Oklahoma; and a special daughter-in-law, Cheryle (Dodson) Combs; seven grandchildren, Tyler Cagle and wife Emily,  Kevin Dodson II and wife Cierra, Robin Sloop, and Felisha Cash and husband Josh; nine great-grandchildren, Tripp and Tinsly Cagle, Kaylee and Baylee Sloop, MyKenli Troutman, Eirelyn Dodson, Phoenix Dodson, Siberious Dodson, and Maverick Dodson. Betty was also blessed with many other relatives, loved ones, and dear friends who will cherish her memory.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Cagle, Tyler Cagle, Kevin Dodson II, Karl Julstead, Morris Claborn,

and Dennis Claborn.

Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Panama, Oklahoma.
