Memorial Service for Brenda Gay Newby, 72 of Poteau, Oklahoma will be at 10:00 am on Friday, December 16, 2022 at Evans Chapel of Memories in Poteau, Oklahoma with Jim Cook officiating. Burial will follow at Oakland Cemetery in Poteau, Oklahoma under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau, Oklahoma.
Brenda was born on December 10, 1949 in Van Buren, Arkansas to Tommy and Stella Beshers and passed away on December 6, 2022 in Poteau, Oklahoma. Brenda married the love of her life Taylor Edwin Newby on September 16, 1969, he preceded her in death on March 5, 2018. She was also preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Harvey, Leon, and Charles Beshers; two sisters, Wanda Lee English, and Betty Sue Featherston; niece, Melba Wilbanks; and nephew, Wayne Beshers. She retired from the election board in Poteau, Oklahoma.
She was survived by her son, Donny and Daughter-in-law Angelia Newby; grandchildren, Sam and Alex Williams, Taelor and Jason Collier, Jacob and Erika Rolf; great grandchildren, Luke and Lincoln Collier, Wyatt Rolf and baby Williams; brother, Eugene and Janet Beshers; sister Barbara Davis; mother-in-law, Elizabeth Newby; brother and sister-in-laws, Larry and Jessica Gregory and Richard and Lisa Newby; Numerous other relatives and loved ones.
