Daisy Josephine Chandler, 86, of Poteau, OK passed away Thursday, August 19, 2021 in Poteau.
Daisy was born April 29, 1935 in Muskogee, OK to Henry Eugene & Ellen Ann (Emerson) Chandler. She retired from Whirlpool in Ft. Smith after 30 years. Daisy never married nor had children of her own but spent her entire life helping raise many grandchildren. Her love of children was an incredible thing to watch. She sacrificed and devoted her life to the love and care of children. I cannot think of a more honorable life to live than that. There would be no more orphans or children without parents if there were more Daisy’s in this world. She would have taken care of all of them. I am pretty sure God has a special place in Heaven for Daisy.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Virginia Ellen Horn, Gloria Dean Hargrove, Norma Jean Chandler, Pansy Savannah Bishop and Cherry Catherine Dalmut; and brother, Dwayne Emerson Chandler.
She is survived by sisters, Wanda Rebecca Clay, Rosemary Ann Chandler & Joyce Violet Piguet; also numerous nieces and nephews; other relatives, loved ones and friends.
Services will be 2 pm, Monday, August 23, 2021 at Evans Chapel of Memories, Poteau, OK with Jim Reed officiating. Interment will follow at Oakland Cemetery, Poteau, OK.
Pallbearers will be Stephen Clay, Nick Wann, Joshua Piguet, Joe Dalmut, Chevy Galetka, Chris Billings. Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Piguet, Jr. & Cody Piguet.
