Dolphis Fout

Dolphis Fout, 89, passed away on July 22, 2026, in Spiro, Oklahoma surrounded by his family. Dolphis was born on March 12, 1937, in Rosedale Community, Oklahoma to parents Cleo and Eula (Mayfield) Fout. Dolphis was a lifelong resident of the Shady Point/Dog Creek community. He spent a lifetime there as a rancher for many years, working for himself and for Roy Reed for many of those years. Dolphis was of the Pentecostal faith.

Dolphis is preceded in death by his parents, his grandson Buddy Burleson, and his siblings and their spouses Naomi Kirk and husband Delbert, David Fout and wife Sharon, Leo Fout and wife Janice, and Sharon Kay Inman and husband Jerry.

Dolphis is survived by his wife Evalyn of the home, his children Dale Fout and wife Christi of Catoosa, Oklahoma and Danitha Meeks and husband Ronnie of Shady Point, Oklahoma, his grandchildren Tiffany Carsello and husband Michael of Prairieville, Louisiana, Justin Fout of Monroe, Oklahoma, John Hess and wife Venus of Poteau, Oklahoma, Jennifer Holladay of Poteau, Oklahoma, Gayla Hess Byus of Poteau, Oklahoma, Dean Hess of Shady Point, Oklahoma, Rachel Meeks of Danville, Arkansas, Rusty Meeks and wife Brooke of Spiro, Oklahoma, Ryder Meeks of Poteau, Oklahoma, and Gracie Meeks of Pocola, Oklahoma, his great grandchildren Kaydence Benge, Raynen Hess, Tori Hess, Gracelynn Carsello, Andrew Carsello, and 17 other great grandchildren, his sisters Joyce Cando of Shady Point, Oklahoma and Laura Neff and husband Tom of Wister, Oklahoma, and his brothers Gearl Fout and wife Shearl of Shady Point, Oklahoma, Johnny Fout of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, and Larry Fout and wife Jean of Bokoshe, Oklahoma, along with numerous other nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.

The Celebration of Life Services for Dolphis will be held 10am – Saturday, July 25, 2026, at The Cedars on Dewey 520 Dewey Ave Poteau, Oklahoma with Pastor Nick Hess and TJ Holt officiating and Brother Clyde Hess singing. Burial will follow in the Fout Family plots at Shady Point Cemetery in Shady Point, Oklahoma. The Family of Dolphis Fout will greet friends from 6pm – 8pm on Friday, July 24, 2026, also at The Cedars on Dewey 520 Dewey Ave Poteau, Oklahoma. Casket bearers will be John Hess, Justin Fout, Rusty Meeks, Tim Murray, Michael Parks, and Lee Fout. Honorary Casket bearer will be Michael Carsello.
