Doris Oglesby went to be with the Lord on May 11, 2026, in her home in Poteau, Oklahoma at the age of 76. Doris was born on March 15,1950 in Fort Smith, Arkansas to Walter R and Geneva (Borin) Oglesby.
Doris was of the Pentecostal Faith and attended First Assembly of God in Shady Point. Doris volunteered at the Oaks Nursing Home, her church and sang in the school choir. Doris was preceded in death by her parents, Walter R and Geneva (Borin) Oglesby, her sister, Loma Hodges, her brothers, Bennie Oglesby, Thomas Oglesby, Dallas Oglesby and Homer Oglesby, Sr.
Doris is survived by her sisters, Vertie Oglesby of Rockford, Illinois and May Oglesby of Kansas City, Missouri; her brother, Raymond Oglesby and wife, Aletha of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; nephew, Homer Oglesby Jr. and wife Shawna of Howe, Oklahoma, along with numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, relatives and friends.
The Celebration of Life Graveside Services for Doris will be 11 am – Friday, May 15, 2026, at the Pavillion in Oakland Cemetery 1401 S McKenna St, Poteau, Oklahoma with Bro. Richard Ferguson officiating with burial to follow.
