Nancy’s greatest pride was her only child, Tracy. More than just mother and daughter, they were best friends who shared an inseparable bond built on their mutual love for fashion and music. As Nana Nancy, she held a special, tender place in the hearts of her grandsons, Jared and Daniel, who will forever cherish childhood memories of her sharing her signature coffee with honey with them. Her great-granddaughter, Ivy, brought pure joy to her life, and Nancy could never wait to go shopping for the perfect little outfit for her.
Nancy’s warmth extended far beyond her family. For many years, she was a familiar, welcoming face in Panama, Oklahoma, first working at the local drugstore and later running her own beloved restaurant, the Burger Barn. Over the years, she served countless cups of coffee, perfectly cooked cheeseburgers, and endless kindness to her community. Nancy loved life, a great pair of shoes, a beautiful garden, and above all, her family. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten
Nancy was preceded in death by her father Charles A Baxley, Sr., her mother Eleanor Baxley, and her brother-in-law, Larry Smoak
Nancy is survived by her daughter Tracy Phillips and husband JR of Fort Smith, Arkansas, her partner Dennis James of the home, her grandchildren Jared T. Hall and wife Cassie of Barling, Arkansas and Thomas Daniel Johnson of Fort Smith, Arkansas, her great grandchild Ivy AnnMarie Hall, her brother Charles A Baxley Jr and wife Lois of Summerville, South Carolina, and her sisters Diane Dyer and husband Ed of Chelsea, Alabama, Deborah Smoak of Charleston, South Carolina, and Carolyn Fletcher and husband Clyde of Raleigh, North Carolina, along with many other relatives and loved ones.
The Celebration of Life Services for Nancy will be held privately by her family on a later date in Charleston, South Carolina.
