Graveside service for Dorothy Louise Jones, 90 of Spiro, Oklahoma will be at 11:00 on Thursday, October 24, 2024 at New Hope Cemetery in Spiro, Oklahoma with Mister Joe Taylor officiating. Services are under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home in Spiro, Oklahoma. Viewing and Visitation will be Wednesday, October 23, 2024 from 9am – 7pm with the family greeting friends from 5pm – 7pm at the funeral home.
She was born on February 27, 1934 in Spiro, Oklahoma to Minnie (Permenter) Smith and Otis Smith and passed away on October 14, 2024 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Dorothy was married to Hubert I. Jones on August 11, 1950. She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Hubert Jones, her daughter Vickey Moore, and her daughter-in-law, Diane Jones, plus a brother Nile Yates and a sister Betty Jones. Dorothy enjoyed traveling with her late husband and friends and family on long circular road trips to see many different parts of the country. In her later years, she loved gardening, purse shopping, and watching the birds gather around her bird feeders, and most of all, taking care of her dog and cat, Duke and Thomas. Dorothy and Hubert were active and loyal members of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 3860 in Spiro, Oklahoma and attended three of their national conventions.
Survivors include her son H Wayne Jones, daughter, Sharon Heavener and husband David, grandchildren, Angie Kehler, Jeramie Kehler, Dr. Timothy Jones, Amanda Edwards, great grandchildren, Cameron Kehler, Logan Kehler, Callie Jones, Warren Jones, and Sofia Edwards, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other family, and friends.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Larry Jones, Garry Jones, Danny Jones, Harold Jones, Joe Taylor, and Ernie Taylor.
