Euphia Gay Johnson was born on June 9, 1934, in Poteau, Oklahoma, to Charlie Allen King and Guy Kermit King. She passed away on June 3, 2026, in Fort Smith, Arkansas, just days before her 92nd birthday.A lifelong resident of Poteau, Euphia was proud to have been the longest-serving employee of Turman Investments, dedicating nearly 50 years of loyal service. She was a member of Epsilon Sigma Alpha Sorority, a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Poteau, and co-owner of Owl Plastics alongside her husband, Glenn.
Euphia was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Guy King, and her beloved husband, Glenn Johnson.
She is survived by her daughter, Tamara Statham of Poteau, Oklahoma; granddaughter, Jana Shults of Fayetteville, Arkansas; and great-granddaughters, Rosemary and Gillian. She also leaves behind many cherished friends and extended family members who will miss her dearly.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to her devoted caregivers, Lisa Carlson, Brittany Knowles, Michelle Tindall, and Lisa Mason, for the compassionate care and friendship they provided.
Memorial Service for Euphia Gay Johnson, 91, of Poteau, Oklahoma, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 8, 2026, at Evans Chapel of Memories in Poteau, Oklahoma, with Phil McGehee officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau, Oklahoma.
Visitation will be Sunday June 7, 2026 from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the funeral home.
The family will hold a private burial service at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Poteau Humane Society.
