He was preceded in death by his parents, Haskell Allen and Mary Lou Bennett; his second wife, Shirley Dunigan; his grandparents, Haskell and Georgia Bennett; his step-father, Tater Ray Brown; his uncle, John Thomas “Tommy” Bennett; two aunts, Norma Mattox and Doris Cowan; and a cousin, Jimmy Dawn Cowan.
Fred was a long-time resident of the area and a retired Truck Driver. He was a member of the VFW, the American Legion, Vietnam Veterans of America, and Heavener First Baptist Church.
Fred was a veteran of the United States Navy, where he served his country in the Vietnam Era. He loved spending time with his family and friends. Fred will be greatly missed by many.
Memorial services will be 2 p.m., Saturday, October 31, 2020 at the Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Frankie Brown officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home of Heavener, Oklahoma.
