Harold Eugene Nebraski, 77, passed away on June 13, 2025, in Fort Smith, AR. Harold was born on July 11, 1947, in Tulsa, Oklahoma to parents John Henry and Faye (Holloway) Nebraski. Harold attended Central High School in Tulsa, Oklahoma. After graduating high school, Harold went on to proudly serve our country for 4 years in the United States Navy. After leaving the Navy he went to work for the railroad for a short time and then went into the pipe industry and for Zebco, before returning to run the family farm in Bokoshe. In 1987 he went to work for AES in Panama, Oklahoma, starting as a security guard and spent many years moving up the ranks and in 1990 he began helping with the dirt work and eventually retired as a heavy equipment operator. Harold spent many years serving as a volunteer firefighter for Bokoshe and Post Mountain Fire Depatments. Ater retirement Harold loved to spend time hunting and fishing or just going to the cabin to spend time in the great outdoors. Harold was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Shirley, his brother Ken Nebraski, and his nephew John Nebraski.
Harold is survived by his daughter Susie Mitchell and husband Darren of Panama, Oklahoma, his granddaughters Stephanie Norby of Poteau, Oklahoma, Hope, Felicity, and Gracie Mitchell, all of Panama, Oklahoma, his grandson Kory Mitchell of Vian, Oklahoma, his great grandson Bennett Norby of Poteau, Oklahoma, his nephew Chuck Nebraski and wife Tara of Newport, North Carolina, his grandnephew Chris Nebraski of Newport, North Carolina, his sister in law Judy Nebraski of Havelock, North Carolina, his stepson Heath Williams and wife Kristi of Poteau, Oklahoma, and his step grandson Derrik Williams of Fresno, California, along with numerous other family and friends.
The Celebration of Life Services will be held 6pm – Thursday, June 19, 2025, at The Cedars on Dewey 520 Dewey Ave Poteau, Oklahoma with TJ Holt officiating. Please stay after the service to meet and greet the family, also in The Cedars on Dewey. Harold will be laid to rest in Old Bokoshe Cemetery in Bokoshe, Oklahoma next to his late wife Shirley Nebraski.
