Harold Ray Dodson, 91, of Panama, Oklahoma, passed away Sunday, March 1, 2026, in Fort Smith, Arkansas.
Harold was born to Everett and Esther Dodson and lived a life defined by faith, service, and devotion to family. He proudly served his country as a veteran of the United States Air Force. Following his military service, Harold dedicated many years to shaping young lives as a teacher at Panama Middle School and also served his community as a school bus driver. He was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Shady Point, Oklahoma.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents, Everett and Esther Dodson; a son, Kevin Dodson; sisters, Margie Lamb and Jean Keeney; and a brother, Merle Dodson.
He is survived by his loving wife of 72 years, Betty Dodson; his daughter, Amy Cagle and husband Jeff of Shady Point, Oklahoma; and a special daughter-in-law, Cheryle (Dodson) Combs. He leaves behind seven grandchildren, Tyler Cagle and wife Emily, Kevin Dodson II and wife Cierra, Robin Sloop, and Felisha Cash and husband Josh; as well as nine great-grandchildren, Tripp and Tinsly Cagle, Kaylee and Bailee Sloop, Mykenli Troutman, Eirelyn Dodson, Phoenix Dodson, Siberious Dodson, and Maverick Dodson.
Harold was also blessed with many other relatives, loved ones, and dear friends who will cherish his memory.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 5, 2026, at Evans Chapel of Memories in Poteau, Oklahoma, with Larry Matthiesen officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Panama, Oklahoma, under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau, Oklahoma.
