Jacob Dean Waymire, 32, passed away on December 12, 2023, in Poteau, Oklahoma. Jacob was born on April 15, 1991, in Fort Smith, Arkansas to Rodney and Cindy (Claborn) Waymire. Jacob was working as a Rock Cutter at several of the rock yards in LeFlore County. In middle school, he loved to wrestle as well as hunt and fish & ride bulls. When he wasn’t doing those things, he could be found listening to music. Jacob is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Mont & Mildred Claborn, paternal grandfathers, Bobby Waymire and Orville Lee Green, uncles, Bobby Claborn, Jeffrey Claborn, Garry Waymire, Estel Self, and one aunt, Nancy Fuller.
Jacob is survived by his parents, Rodney & Cindy Waymire of Poteau, one brother & sister-in-law, Joe and Meagan Waymire of Greenwood, Arkansas, one niece, Aubree and one nephew, Maverick, paternal grandmother, Goldie Green and special friend, Brooklyn Deshazo, along with numerous other aunts, uncles, cousins, relatives and friends.
The Celebration of Life Services for Jacob are scheduled for 2pm – Monday December 18, 2023, at The Cedars on Dewey 520 Dewey Ave Poteau, Oklahoma with burial to follow at Oakland Cemetery in Poteau, Oklahoma. The family will meet and greet friends from 3pm – 5pm on Sunday December 17, 2023, at The Cedars on Dewey as well. Jacob’s casket bearers will be Colton Claborn, Nick Rogers, Michael Dickie, Aaron Francis, Justin Benefield, & Aubrey Young.
