Funeral Service for James Earl Smith, 83 of Bokoshe, Oklahoma will be at 2:00pm on Tuesday, May 28, 2024 at Mallory-Martin Chapel in Spiro, Oklahoma with Kyle Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Old Bokoshe Cemetery in Bokoshe, Oklahoma under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home.
Visitation will be Monday, May 27, 2024 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at the funeral home.
Earl was born on April 15, 1941 in Bokoshe, OK to Ella Mae (Henderson) Smith and Albert Felix Smith and passed away on May 23, 2024 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He was married to Janie (Shockley) Smith on Nov 7, 1964 in Panama, Oklahoma. Earl was preceded in death by his parents, great granddaughter Cambrie Smith, and siblings Billie Jones, Virginia Crutchfield, Betty Donner, Edward Smith, Lenota Trower, and Audrey Norton.
Earl retired from Whirlpool corporation after 33 years, he was a member of the Spiro Masonic lodge for 49 years. Earl loved to hunt and fish, but above everything he loved spending time with his family, mainly the grandchildren and great grandchildren who were his favorites.
Survivors include his wife Janie Smith; Daughter Beth Roberson and husband Mike of Booneville, AR; grandchildren Brent Hutcherson and wife Sierra of Shady Point, OK, Laci Smith and husband Kody of Booneville, AR, Kyle Roberson and wife Jodie of Van Buren, AR, Kenny Roberson and wife Nikoletta of Hastings, MI; great grandchildren Brooke Hutcherson, Carter Smith, Taylee Wooten, Delilah Roberson, Heidi Roberson, Oliviana Roberson, Lainey Smith, Rustin Hutcherson, Tucker Hutcherson, Luke Roberson, Hunter Roberson, Remi Roberson, and Riley Smith; and a host of family, loved ones, and friends.
Pallbearers will be Brent Hutcherson, Kyle Roberson, Kody Smith, Bill Lafferty, Tommy Swindle, and Kenny Roberson.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Garry Smith, Dennis Price, Robbie Brassfield, Jim Philpot, and Randy Crutchfield.
