Joseph Frank Stimac, 79, of Fort Smith, Arkansas passed away on May 19, 2026 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Direct Cremation is under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau, Oklahoma.
Joseph was born on June 23, 1946 in Monroe, Oklahoma to Mattie (Thomas) Stimac and Anthony Stimac.
Joseph proudly served his country as a special courier for the Army during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed fishing and reading. Although disabled by Agent Orange, he never complained. Joseph loved children, enjoyed cooking, and was known as a generous and caring person. He faithfully cared for his father after the passing of his mother and was deeply devoted to his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Margie Bandy, Tona Knox, and Tammy Jergins; and brother, Anthony Stimac.
Survivors include his sisters, Joan Cunningham of Pocola, Oklahoma, Lynn Anderson of Brinkley, Arkansas, and Dana McDaniel of Shady Point, Oklahoma; brothers, James Stimac of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Charles Stimac of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Tommy Stimac of Summerfield, Oklahoma, Matt Stimac of Panama, Oklahoma, and Roy Stimac of Spiro, Oklahoma; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other loved ones, and friends.
