Graveside Service for Luana Gilstrap, 67, of Poteau, Oklahoma, will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 28, 2024, at Oakland Cemetery in Poteau, Oklahoma, with Cory Thompson officiating. Burial will follow at Oakland Cemetery under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau, Oklahoma.
Luana, known affectionately as “Lulu” by those who loved her, was born on December 6, 1957, in Poteau, Oklahoma, to Patsy Clay and Bob Gilstrap. She passed away on December 25, 2024.
Luana proudly served 4 years in the U.S. Army and was a dedicated member of the D.A.V.. She was a faithful member of the First Freewill Baptist Church in Poteau, where she found deep connection and love with her church family, who cherished her in return. Lulu had a profound love for music, which brought her great joy and was a significant part of her life. Her passion for music, whether in worship at church or enjoying songs in her free time, reflected her vibrant spirit and deep appreciation for the beauty of life.
Luana was preceded in death by her parents, Patsy Clay and Bob Gilstrap.
She is survived by her sister, Jeana Stone, and husband, David; nieces, Sara Beth Stone, and Meredith Price, and her husband, Craig; great-nieces, Scarlett Price and Juliet Price; a special cousin, Jerry Price; and numerous other cousins and relatives who will miss her deeply.
Luana’s life was a testament to service, faith, and love for family and music. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those she touched.
