Mary “Mikey” Fowler, 81, of Spiro went home peacefully to her Lord and Savior early Thursday morning, March 18, 2021. Mikey was born on September 3, 1939 in Cuzick, Kentucky to Valeria (Cobb) Jones and Benjamin Franklin Jones.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Valeria Jones, sisters, Ruby Word, Lillian Vestal, and Betty Dain and her brother Bud Jones.
Mikey is survived by her children, Kenny Fowler and wife Dulce, Kyle Fowler and wife Janette, and Kim Fouts and husband Bryan. Nine grandchildren, Scott Fowler and wife Miranda, Kelby Fowler and wife Gracie, Kenny Fowler Jr. and wife Rebecca, Lindsi Spiers and husband Chaston, Kayli Howard and husband Braedon, Tabri Maxwell and husband Brandon, Trevon Fowler, Taylon Payne and husband Travis. Ten great grandchildren. Two sisters, Nancy Groseclos and Shirley Chace.
She loved doing woodwork, planting flowers, and working in her yard. Mikey was a talented florist and a superb wedding decorator. She was also a secretary at the Spiro Junior High for 29 years and was so loved by all of her office girls. She was a Spiro Bulldog through and through.
Mikey was a devoted mom to her three children and she was a committed servant at Victory Worship Center. Serving in the church was her passion. She was always willing to do the work seen or unseen by others. She always participated in plays, cleaning, choir, and playing the piano at the church or any other thing she was called upon to do. She began playing the piano in the second grade and was the pianist at the churches her dad pastored for many years. Her love for God, her family, and church was unwavering.
Funeral services will be held 11:00am Saturday, March 20, 2021 at the Victory Worship Center in Spiro with burial to follow in the Spiro City Cemetery.
