Master Sergeant (Ret.) Timothy Edward Cox, United States Army, passed away peacefully in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, at the age of 61. He was born on October 1, 1964, in St. Louis, Missouri.
Tim proudly served his country for 23 years, earning numerous awards and achievements throughout his military career, including the Purple Heart. His dedication, courage, and leadership were evident in every step of his service. He was also a proud Master Mason, committed to living a life of integrity, brotherhood, and purpose.
Outside of the military, Tim found joy in the simple things—hunting, fishing, and playing cards—but more than anything, he loved being surrounded by his family and friends. His presence brought warmth, laughter, and strength to every gathering.
Tim was preceded in death by his parents, John E. Cox and Betty Cox.
He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Cox of Welling, Oklahoma; his children Stephanie Cox of Washington, Beau Cox of Washington, Brandon Slone and wife Brooke of Poteau, Oklahoma, and Ashley Olari and husband Drake of Tulsa, Oklahoma; and his three treasured grandchildren, Broker, Brixtyn, and Briggs Slone, all of Poteau, Oklahoma.
He is also survived by his siblings: John Cox of Missouri; Barbara Zehr and husband Steve of Missouri; Diane Cox of Missouri; and Eddie Cox and wife Connie of Missouri; along with numerous loved nieces and nephews, and a host of other friends and family who will forever cherish his memory.
Master Sergeant Timothy Cox will be remembered for his loyalty, courage, wisdom, and the love he shared with all who knew him. His legacy lives on in the hearts of his family, his brothers-in-arms, and the many lives he touched.
