Mildred Lavoy Richards departed this life at the age of 94, on October 22, 2022 with family by her side. Mildred to many but Lavoy and Aunt Lavoy to family. She was a life long member of Oak Lodge Church in Spiro, Oklahoma.
After retiring from Baldor, she loved spending time fishing at her lake property in Eufaula, Oklahoma. When it became to much for her she spent her time at the sewing machine making quilts for everyone, especially all the new born babies. She will truly be missed, being the oldest of seven, she was the one who held the family together, she loved and nurtured everyone.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Richards; parents Eual and Adella Dillon; daughter, Rhonda Cobb; and grandsons, Chase Moreland and Shane Fiddelke.
Lavoy is survived by her son, Earl Richards and wife Anna Jean of Pocola, Oklahoma; brothers, Bill Freeman and wife Zada of Coweta, Oklahoma, Wayne Dillon and wife Linda of Sallisaw, Oklahoma; sisters, Jolene Couch and husband Joe of Pocola, Oklahoma, Naomi Phillips of Fort Smith, Arkansas; thirteen grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren, and one great great grandson, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and loved ones.
Funeral Service for Mildred Lavoy Richards, of Pocola, Oklahoma will be at 11:00 on Thursday, October 27, 2022 at Mallory-Martin Funeral Home Chapel in Spiro, Oklahoma with Brother Earnest Brown officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Fort Smith, Arkansas under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home in Spiro, Oklahoma.
Viewing and Visitation will be Wednesday, October 26, 2022 from 9am – 7pm with family greeting friends from 5pm – 7pm at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Mark Shipman, Kevin Shipman, Galen Shipman, Robert Richards, Caleb Christianson, and Duane Freeman. Honorary Pallbearers will be Brian Fiddelke, Justin Christianson, Chris Christianson, and David Freeman.
