A memorial service celebrating Tonya’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 30, 2024, at Mallory-Martin Chapel in Spiro, Oklahoma, under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home.
Tonya was born on October 14, 1973, to Patricia Kay Wilkett and Michael Shonebarger. Known for her kind heart, generous spirit, and love of family, Tonya touched the lives of everyone she met. She had a deep appreciation for the outdoors, enjoying fishing trips on her brother’s boat or the banks of a pond, lake or river. Her fondness for animals, particularly her beloved cats, reflected her compassionate nature.
Tonya took great pride in her nephews—Trey, Cory, and Conner—cheering them on at their sporting events and offering unwavering encouragement. She delighted in simple pleasures, such as collecting driftwood at Kerr Lake, appreciating dragon figurines with intricate designs, and tinkering with projects that showcased her creative problem-solving skills.
Her love of life extended to her favorite foods and traditions, especially enjoying Wild-Horse BBQ after a day of fishing or savoring the turkey neck during Thanksgiving dinner. These joyful moments were shared with her family and friends, creating cherished memories that will live on.
Tonya was preceded in death by her great-grandparents, Bill and Mamie Blevins; grandparents, Mary (Nanaw) and Sherman Wilkett, and Carol and Paul Shonebarger, Sr.; uncles, Jim Blevins, Marvin Blevins, Ballis Sebo, and Chris Shonebarger; aunts, Sue Blevins and Betty Blevins; and cousins, Chris Blevins and Joe McGhee.
She is survived by her mother, Patricia Kay Wilkett; father, Michael Shonebarger; brother, Bobby Rodgers, and sister-in-law, Julie Rodgers; nephews, Trey Rodgers and wife Brooklynn (and their daughter, Elizabeth), Cory Rodgers and fiancée Alizae Neal, and Conner Rodgers and fiancée Grace Epperson. Additional family members include her half-sister, Leslie Raulston and husband Kyle; her aunts Brenda Sebo and Bobbie Matherly (Blevins), Jennifer Daniels and husband Gary; uncles Bill Blevins, Thomas Shonebarger and wife Shannon, Keith Shonebarger, and Paul Shonebarger Jr. and wife Paula; as well as many cousins, including Nikki Johnson (Sebo), Tony Sebo, Sandra Williams (Blevins), Alex Blevins, Lacinda Ritter (Blevins), Cheryl Alvey (Blevins), Amanda Honeycutt (Robertson), Randa Smith (McGhee), Melissa, Christopher, Shaye, Grace, Keylee Ann, Lucas, Daniel Langley, Kelli, Brett, and Christy Shonebarger.
Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Rodgers, Trey Rodgers, Cory Rodgers, Conner Rodgers, Jordan Johnson, and Nick Johnson.
Tonya’s legacy of love, kindness, and joy will live on in the hearts of her family and friends. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
