Velta Faye Eatmon, 84, passed away on July 2, 2025, at her home in Buck Creek, Oklahoma. Velta was born on September 5, 1940, in Buck Creek, Oklahoma to parents Carl Daniel and Angelene Martin Call. Velta loved the Lord and is in the arms of God. She was of the Pentecostal faith. She worked 23 years at Whirlpool in Fort Smith, Arkansas and worked the family farm with her husband, where together, they raised their family. Velta enjoyed going camping at the lake and fishing with her family and friends. She always loved to go to deer camp and was so happy the year that her buck was bigger than her husbands! As she became older, she loved to just sit on her porch and watch all the deer come feed in her yard, but most of all she loved playing with her grandbabies and great grand babies. She was proud of her little community called Buck Creek. She always spoke of how she was born in Buck Creek and that she wanted to die there as well. Thanks to the care of her family and dedication to honor her wish, she was able to pass peacefully at home in Buck Creek surrounded by her family. Velta is now dancing in the sky with Jesus.

Velta was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years Jerry Eatmon, her son Jerry Dean Eatmon, her granddaughter Selena Zimmerman, her brother Carl Junior Call, and son in law Arthur Wayne Wedge.

Velta leaves behind a daughter Raylene Wedge of Buck Creek, Oklahoma, her grandchildren Arthur Wayne Wedge Jr of Buck Creek, Oklahoma, Angelena Hatfield and husband Joe of Van Buren, Arkansas, Branden Wedge of Buck Creek, Oklahoma, and Velta Wedge and wife Adi Chitwood Wedge of Buck Creek, Oklahoma, her great grandchildren Alexis Zimmerman and John Zimmerman, both of Cameron, Oklahoma, her great great grandson Jerry Dean Wedge, her sister Carmel Cloud of Poteau, Oklahoma, and her son in law Nick Zimmerman, along with many other relatives and friends.
