Numerous great-nieces, great-nephews, many cousins, half-brothers, other loved ones, and a host of friends whom she loved very much.
She was preceded in death by her son, Bobby Miller; her mom and step-dad, Mazil and Pete White; a newborn sister, Angela White; her beloved in-laws, Bob and Ona Miller; her sisters-in-law, Mandy Gates and Virginia Harrison; and her treasured granddog and best friend, Trevi.
Vickey spent most of her high school years at Moore, Oklahoma, where she lived with her beloved Granny Mattie. She ended up graduating with the class of 1969 at Tahlequah High School.
She married Johnny Bob on January 17, 1975. They had two children, Marianne and Bobby, and a first child who was lost to miscarriage.
She learned to sew from her mom and made many of her kids’ clothes when they were young. She also made clothes, including a wedding dress, for her nieces and nephews.
Vickey’s skill with fabric would lead her to a job in the late 90’s at Sonshine Manufacturing in Heavener, Oklahoma. She helped construct western wear for Stonebridge clothing brand.
Vickey’s future in the sewing world would eventually take her to the Fabrics & Crafts Department at the Tahlequah Walmart. She spent nearly 20 years there, often being told by customers that they wouldn’t let anyone cut fabric for them if she couldn’t. She enjoyed her work there, making new friends, and learning new technologies, which scared her silly.
Vickey loved plants and gardening. For many years, she would have a large vegetable garden and flowers all over the yard.
Vickey loved eating out, especially with her mom and daughter. She loved the Chinese buffets in Tahlequah and Muskogee. She would always find something delicious at a Mexican restaurant.
Vickey spent the last nearly 12 years raising her granddog. The two became so close she often knew what Trevi was thinking just by her bark or stare. They enjoyed napping together in the recliner.
When she had some spending money, Vickey enjoyed going to thrift stores with Marianne. “It’s our thing”, she had told her recently. Her house and flower beds were filled with the trinkets she had found on their adventures. Vickey’s memory will live on in the hearts of her loved ones, and she will never be forgotten.
Vickey was a beloved resident of the Tahlequah and Summerfield areas. She was an active member of the South College Church of Christ in Tahlequah and Church of Christ in Summerfield. She cherished the moments she spent with her family and the get togethers in the Summerfield, Tahlequah, and Moore areas. Her warm spirit and kind heart touched the lives of many, and she will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
