Funeral Service for William Norman Young, 84 of Spiro, Oklahoma will be at 2:00pm on Thursday, August 19, 2021 at Mallory-Martin Funeral Home Chapel in Spiro, Oklahoma. Burial will follow at Oakland Cemetery in West Plains, Missouri at 1:00 pm on Friday August 20, 2021 under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home of Spiro, Oklahoma.
William was born on November 28, 1936 in West Plains, Missouri to Imo Muriel (Malcolm) Young and John Oliver Young and passed away on August 17, 2021 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He was married to Glenda Gail (Mahar) Young on July 21, 1983 in Spiro, Oklahoma. William was preceded in death by his parents, John and Imo Young; niece, Joy Young, and sister-in-law, Vivian Young. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Fort Smith, Arkansas. William loved to play golf and work puzzles.
Survivors include his wife, Glenda G. Young; step-daughter, Sharon Parker; step-son, Robert Lance Parker and wife Barbara; brother, David Young; grandchildren, Sabre Parker, Chase Parker, Meredith Parker, Hayden Parker, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and loved ones.
Pallbearers will be Wayne Moody, Scott Willbanks, Sam Castillo, Glen Martin, Cody Martin, Jeff Harris, Carl Carter, and Gary Parker. Honorary Pallbearer will be Charles Willhite.
Viewing will be Wednesday August 18, 2021 from 12:00pm -7:00pm with the family greeting with friends from 5:00pm – 7:00pm at the funeral home.
