Funeral Service for Willie Alonzo “Buck” Stanley, 92 of Spiro, Oklahoma will be at 1:00pm on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at Lighthouse At The Crossroads Church in Spiro, Oklahoma with Reverend Howard Jeffery officiating. Viewing will be Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at the church starting at 11:00 am. Burial will follow at Forest Park Cemetery in Fort Smith, Arkansas under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home of Spiro, Oklahoma.
He was born on November 21, 1928 in Dumas, Arkansas to Annie Bell (Harrison) Stanley and Levy Stanley and passed away on January 7, 2021 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He married the love of his life Shirley Stanley on June 11, 1951 in Greenwood, Arkansas. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Levy Stanley, Jr.
Buck had many skills and worked hard to provide for his family. He was a painter and also installed lightning rods for Robbin’s Lightning Rod Company for many years. Then decided to go back into the painting business teaching his family the trade. At the age of 64 he started working in the Asphalt business. In 1995 he established Buck’s Paving a business that will be continued by his son and grandsons. Buck accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal savior in 1975, and continued serving the Lord throughout his years. One of his passions was reading the word of God. He attended Lighthouse at the Crossroads Church, a member of the Odd Fellows, and was a member of the Murrow Masonic Lodge #49 for 60 years. He was proud to be a Master Mason, Scottish Rite 32* Mason, and a Shriner.
Survivors include his wife of 69 years, Shirley Jean Stanley; sons, Harry Stanley and wife Mildred, Willie Buck Stanley and wife Dorothy; daughters, Madge Stanley Cooper, Mamie Ann Worton and husband Alfred; grandchildren, Melanie Stanley, Ashley Stanley, Harry Mark Stanley and wife Bernadette, Jack Buck Stanley and wife Charmaine, Robbie Cooper and wife Stacy, Rosie Harrison and husband Jimmy, Christian Jeffery and husband Joseph, Jill Cooper, Jackie Worton, Kayla Stanley and husband Jimmy, Alfred Worton and wife Mandy, Grace Worton, Tommy Worton, Lulaann Stanley, Henry Buck Stanley and wife Mary Grace, Cody Stanley; great grandchildren, Princess, Presley, Jillian, Mark Edward, Jack Buck, Maria, Robert, Emma, Promise, Laney, Jimmy and wife Jackie, Hannah, Christian, Sebastian, Joseph, Jeremiah, Rose Marie, Jordan, Alfred, Ella, Jimmy, Kennedy, Henry; one great-great grandson, Jimmy Harrison. Also Buck leaves behind one sister, Bessie Stanley; nephews, Joe Levy Jeffery, Willie Jeffery, Levy Junior Stanley; three nieces, Shirley Ann Wells, Emmie Stanley, Tennielle Granite, numerous great nieces, great nephews, other relatives and loved ones.
Pallbearers will be Harry Mark Stanley, Jack Buck Stanley, Henry Buck Stanley, Alfred Worton, Robbie Cooper, Cody Stanley, Tommy Worton, Jimmy Harrison, and Presley. Honorary Pallbearers will be Walter Cooper and Tom Cooper.
