RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Great American Conference announced the league’s seventh Men’s and Women’s Basketball Players of the Week for the 2021 season. Henderson State’s Raekwon Rogers and Southeastern Oklahoma State’s Kellen Manek shared the Men’s award while Ouachita’s Eden Crow garnered the Women’s accolade.
GAC MEN’S CO-PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Raekwon Rogers, Henderson State, F, Sr., Little Rock, Arkansas
Rogers led the Reddies to their fourth win against Arkansas Tech this season. He scored a season-high 23 points by connecting on 7-of-11 from the floor. He pulled down 11 rebounds to record his third double-double of the season. He scored 17 of his 23 points in the second half. He added a pair of blocks and two steals.
GAC MEN’S CO-PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Kellen Manek, Southeastern Oklahoma State, F, Sr., Harrah, Oklahoma
Manek hit the game-winning 3-point field goal at the buzzer against Southwestern Oklahoma State on Saturday as the Savage Storm won their third-straight game. He finished with a game-high 26 points on 9-for-16 shooting, including 5-for-10 from the 3-point arc. He added 11 rebounds for his first double-double of the season. He also totaled five assists.
GAC WOMEN’S PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Eden Crow, Ouachita, F, Sr., Texarkana, Arkansas
Crow paced the Tigers to the first win of their abbreviated season as she notched a career-high 28 points against Southern Arkansas in a 102-86 victory. She connected on 13-of-20 from the floor. She also pulled down a game-high 14 rebounds and matched her career high with six assists. The Tigers scored 100 points in a game for the first time since January 7, 2017.
