DAVIS, DUNN EARN CONFERENCE HONORS

 NORMAN – Freshman Audrey Davis and sophomore Jenna Dunn were named the Big 12 Newcomer of the Week and Event Specialist of the week, respectively, the conference announced Tuesday.

This is the second career honor for Davis who was named the newcomer of the week after week one of the season. Dunn received her first career honor and is the third Sooner to earn event specialist of the week this season.

Davis was phenomenal over the weekend as she took home two event titles and set two career highs in a win over Denver. For the fourth time this season, Davis took home the event title on bars with a 9.95. The freshman followed up her career performance with a career-high 9.95 on beam and a second event title as she led OU to a nation-best 49.625 on the apparatus. Davis also added a 9.800 on vault as she helped the Sooners to their best mark of the season on the event.

Dunn was instrumental in leading the Sooners to a nation-high score on beam. The sophomore led off the event by matching her career high with a 9.925 as the Sooners counted only marks of 9.9 or better in the rotation.

The Sooners will travel down to the Lone Star State to defend their title at the annual Metroplex Challenge on Saturday, Feb. 13. OU has won the last two times and will look to make it three-straight when it takes on Centenary, Iowa State and TWU inside the Fort Worth Convention Center. The meet is slated for a 7 p.m. start.
