RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Great American Conference announced the league’s seventh Volleyball Player of the Week awards of the 2021 spring season.

Northwestern Oklahoma State’s Kaydee Honeycutt and Avery Osburg garnered the Offensive Player and Setter honors while Oklahoma Baptist’s Julia Brinton claimed Defensive Player of the Week.

GAC OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Kaydee Honeycutt, Northwestern Oklahoma State, OH, Jr., Marquez, Texas Honeycutt paced the Ranger offense in its three-set victory against Southeastern Oklahoma State as she collected 15 kills against only one error. She hit .412 against the Savage Storm as she registered her fourth 15-kill performance in her last five matches.

GAC DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Julia Brinton, Oklahoma Baptist, RS, So., Tulsa, Oklahoma Brinton put together two stellar blocking performances against Southwestern Oklahoma State as the Bison improved to 7-0 in GAC games. She averaged a league-leading 1.83 blocks per set after totaling seven in Friday night’s sweep and four in Tuesday’s three-set victory. Her 1.77 blocks per set leads the conference.

GAC SETTER OF THE WEEK – Avery Osburg, Northwestern Oklahoma State, Sr., Longview, Texas Osbrug recorded her third 40-assist effort of the season – and her first in a three-set match – as the Rangers defeated Southeastern Oklahoma State for the fourth-straight time. She added seven digs, two blocks and an ace. The Rangers produced a .246 attack percentage, their highest in a league contest this season.
