RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Great American Conference announced the seventh men’s and women’s golfers of the week awards for the spring portion of the 2025-26 season. Harding’s Dennis Staykov claimed the men’s accolade and Arkansas Tech’s Ellen Spigner garnered the women’s award.

#theGAC MEN’S GOLFER OF THE WEEK – Dennis Staykov, Jr., Harding, Sofia, Bulgaria
Staykov captured his third-career tournament victory as he lapped the field at the Arkansas Collegiate. He finished at even-par 216, eight strokes clear of his closest competitor. His opening round 2-under 70 represented the low round of the event. He led the field in par-3 and par-4 scoring. The Bisons won the team event by 32 shots.

#theGAC WOMEN’S GOLFER OF THE WEEK – Ellen Spigner, Sr., Arkansas Tech, Nashville, Arkansas
Spigner collected her third tournament win of the season as she won at the Hardscrabble Invitational. She won by five strokes. After a 3-over 73, she carded a 2-under 68 to move into first place. She finished with a 4-over final round. She posted the top scoring averages on par-4s, 4.23, and par-5s, 4.56. The Golden Suns took second in the 14-team event.
