RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Great American Conference announced the final GAC men’s track & field athletes of the week for the 2026 outdoor season. Oklahoma Baptist’s Korban Murphy won the track award and Harding’s Artem Konovalenko claimed the field honor.

#theGAC TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK – Korban Murphy, Jr., Oklahoma Baptist, Mabank, Texas
Murphy, owner of the fastest time in the GAC in the 800-meter run, narrowly missed matching that top time after he ran a 1:49.55 at the John McDonnell Invitational. He finished fifth overall, first among Division II competitors. He owns the GAC’s only two 800 times this season faster than 1:50.

#theGAC FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK – Artem Konovalenko, Fr., Harding, Odessa, Ukraine
Konovalenko finished second in the triple jump at the John McDonnell Invitational. His top attempt, 15.37 meters, came on his final attempt of the event. He secured second place on his penultimate attempt as he moved up from fourth. He ranks third in the GAC and 10th in Division II.
