RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Great American Conference announced its eighth GAC men’s track & field athletes of the week winners. Harding’s Savian Bush garnered the track award and his teammate, Casen Hammitt, claimed the field honor.

#theGAC TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK – Savian Bush, Sr., Harding, Tatum, Texas
Bush turned in a dominating performance in the 110-meter dash at the Hendrix College Open. He turned in a winning time of 14.08 seconds, besting the closest competition by 1.28 seconds. He earned an NCAA Provisional time and it ranked as the top performance in the country.

#theGAC FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK – Casen Hammitt, Sr., Harding, Nixa, Missouri
Hammitt took home first place in the javelin at the Hendrix College Open. After committing fouls on his first two attempts, his third throw, 55.21 meters, moved him into second place. In the fourth round, he overtook Central Arkansas’ Jeff King with an effort of 61.17 meters. He achieved an NCAA Provision mark with his performance.
