RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Great American Conference announced the volleyball players of the week for the fifth week of the season. Henderson State’s Katilyn Steffes claimed the Offensive Player accolade while Southwestern Oklahoma State’s Jada Permenter and Cameron Turner earned the Defensive Player and Setter honors.

#theGAC VOLLEYBALL OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Katilyn Steffes, OH, Henderson State, Sr.,Rochester, Minnesota
Steffes won Player of the Week for the third time this season after she produced GAC-leading 4.86 kills and 5.50 points per set. In a sweep of Arkansas-Monticello, she hit .432 with 16 kills. She did not commit an error against the Blossoms. She added 12 digs. Against Ouachita Baptist, she collected a game-high 18 kills. She added 22 digs, four blocks and an ace.

#theGAC VOLLEYBALL DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Jada Permenter, L, Southwestern Oklahoma State, Jr., Amarillo, Texas
Permenter averaged 6.33 digs per set as she helped the Bulldogs improve to 3-1 in GAC play following sweeps against Southeastern Oklahoma State and Northwestern Oklahoma State. She totaled 18 digs and four assists against the Savage Storm. She matched her high for digs in a three-set match, 20, in the victory against the Rangers.

#theGAC VOLLEYBALL SETTER OF THE WEEK – Cameron Turner, S, Southwestern Oklahoma State, Sr., Deer Creek, Oklahoma
Turner led the GAC in assists per set, 11.33, to help the Bulldog offense in their victories against the Savage Storm and the Rangers. She became the first GAC player to record 40 assists in a three-set match when she amassed 41 against Southeastern. She followed up with 27 assists and 10 digs against Northwestern Oklahoma State.
