RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Great American Conference announced the fourth women’s and men’s golfers of the week awards for the spring portion of the 2025-26 season. Southwestern Oklahoma State’s Maria Velilla earned the women’s honor and Harding’s Jose Arzu won the men’s award.

#theGAC WOMEN’S GOLFER OF THE WEEK – Maria Velilla, Fr., Southwestern Oklahoma State, Calatayud, Spain
Velilla led the Bulldogs at the Diffee Ford Lincoln Invitational as she finished second, first amongst Division II competitors. She began her tournament with a 4-over par 74, she played her final 18 hole in even par to climb seven spots of the leaderboard. The Bulldogs won by five strokes, their third-straight victory at the event.

#theGAC MEN’S GOLFER OF THE WEEK – Jose Arzu, Jr., Harding, Guatemala City, Guatemala
Arzu captured medalist honors at the Shadow Valley Invitational. He finished at 4-under 212, one shot ahead of teammate Jose Manuel Peralta. After an even-par opening round, he carded consecutive rounds of 2-under 70. He made 10 birdies across the final two rounds. He helped the Bisons successfully defend the team title as Harding won by 11 strokes.
